The latest annual global expenditure on peacebuilding and peacekeeping totaled just $47.2 billion — about 0.52% of total military spending. Set against a $2.7 trillion figure for world military expenditure, that puts peace work at roughly 1.7% of military spending — military outlays outweigh it by about 57 to 1. We can do a lot better than that. My Peacehenge team and I are designing a fleet of stealth drones that will drop a million red silk rose petals on the Kremlin. This will happen soon. My idea is to use our rose petal bomb to blow Russia not back to the Dark Ages, but to the Age of Mikhail Gorbachev. I miss him. JT
